Things to do Life in Spain

Mon 28 Apr 2008

If you live or are staying in the Costa Blanca, a visit to the caves at Benidoleig is well worth the trip.

From Moraira you can either drive to Benissa, continue north and just outside Benissa take the right hand fork to Jalon and Alkalali, then on towards Orba and you will see the signpost to Benidoleig or you can take the N 332 north to Ondara and turn left towards Benidoleig.

The caves are open all year and the natural cave is 300 yards long with many domes reaching to 60 ft. The stalacmite and stalactites are quite awsome. There are many human and animal bones, dating back to more than 50,000 years.

The telephone number of the caves is 96 640 4235.
